Yaffle / prototype
Privacy and usage counts
This prototype makes a video from your voice and a visual. Your draft stays in this browser until you upload media for validation or export a video for conversion. Refreshing or choosing “start again” clears the in-memory draft.
Voice, visuals and search
Browser speech recognition may use your browser provider’s online service. Searches and selected visuals use Pixabay. Uploaded visuals are sent to this server to check their size and clip duration; composed videos are sent for MP4 conversion. These files are processed temporarily and removed after the response. No gallery, account, permanent recording store or social posting is included.
Optional visitor counting
No visitor identifier is created or counted unless you allow usage counting. If allowed, a first-party cookie contains a random browser identifier for up to 90 days. A keyed hash of it is kept server-side for deduplication, expiring 90 days after its last use. The server keeps aggregate totals, not names or contact details. Clearing cookies or using another browser can count a person again. This is pseudonymous counting—not an exact count of people.
Your choice is remembered in local storage for up to 90 days. Change it using “usage preferences” beneath the tool. Declining stops future optional visitor counting and requests deletion of the visitor cookie and its current deduplication record; previously aggregated totals remain.
Exports and owner tests
A successful export increments an aggregate counter without needing a visitor identifier or optional analytics consent. Repeated server requests carrying the same export identifier are deduplicated for 90 days; the normal “download again” action does not request a new export. Exports made from browsers marked for owner testing are counted separately. No audio, image, transcript, caption, search text or IP address is stored in the statistics database.
Operational security
The owner’s private stats session uses an eight-hour cookie. A separate signed browser-exclusion cookie can last up to a year and remains after owner sign-out, to keep test Yaffles out of public totals. This setting must be enabled separately on each browser or device. Hosting and network providers may maintain their own operational access logs. The service applies basic request and processing limits; usage counts are estimates, not audited or bot-proof analytics.
